Okanagan Montessori is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Infant & Toddler Educator to join our growing team!

We are looking for someone who genuinely loves working with young children, understands the importance of nurturing relationships, and is passionate about supporting children's development during their earliest years.

Our Infant & Toddler program provides care for a small group of 8 children supported by 3 educators, creating a calm, supportive environment where children can receive individualized attention and build meaningful connections with their educators.

About Our Classroom

- Small group of 8 children.
- Three educators working together in the classroom.
- Typically staffed with 2 Infant Toddler Educators (ITs) and 1 Early Childhood Educator (ECE).
- 8-hour shifts.
- A prepared Montessori environment designed to encourage independence, exploration, movement, and development.
- A supportive team setting where educators work collaboratively.

Responsibilities The successful candidate will:
- Provide warm, responsive, and nurturing care to infants and toddlers.
- Build secure, trusting relationships with children and their families.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and experiences that support all areas of development.
- Follow children's individual routines, including feeding, sleeping, diapering, and personal care.
- Support children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development.
- Observe children closely and recognize their individual interests, needs, and developmental milestones.
- Create opportunities for independence through practical life activities and everyday routines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and inviting classroom environment.
- Follow Montessori principles, including following the child,



encouraging independence, and respecting each child's individual pace.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teammates to maintain consistent routines and quality care.
- Communicate professionally and positively with families and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate daily documentation, observations, and required records.
- Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety policies, and centre procedures.
- Actively supervise children indoors and outdoors, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a valid Infant Toddler Educator (ITE) certificate.
- Has a genuine passion for working with infants and toddlers.
- Is patient, nurturing, dependable, and energetic.
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understands child development and the importance of responsive caregiving.
- Is comfortable working in a Montessori environment or is eager to learn about the Montessori philosophy.
- Is organized, flexible, and able to work as part of a team.
