About the Role
The Falcon Complete Detection Engineering (FCDE) team builds and maintains the NG-SIEM detection ruleset that powers CrowdStrike's managed detection and response capability.
The team develops high-fidelity detections driven by threat intelligence and real-world observations, including rapid response to zero-days and emerging threats, filling detection gaps across a broad range of third-party data sources where adversaries increasingly operate. FCDE also builds and refines AI-powered tooling to maximize the speed and fidelity of detection development at scale. Engineers collaborate across the full pipeline, from ingestion and parsing to response and automation, to improve triage efficiency and accelerate threat disruption. What You’ll Do:Perform threat research and threat hunting to identify emerging tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) to build detections using an intelligence driven approachDevelop, test, and deploy actionable high fidelity CrowdStrike Next-Gen SIEM detection rules to enable a world class Managed Detection and Response teamConduct code reviews and testing to ensure rules meet our quality and performance expectations prior to deployment at scale Leverage CI/CD best practices and principles to deploy detections as codeContribute to and leverage an AI-powered detection engineering ecosystem, including LLM-assisted tooling and coding agents, to accelerate threat research, rule development,
and detection workflow automationCollaborate with SIEM architects to develop and define best practices for parsing data and normalizing data to a common event schemaBuild and maintain utilities and tools to enable the managed services team to operate efficiently and at a large scaleDevelop and maintain processes and documentationParticipate in a Detection Engineer handler on-call rotationWhat You’ll Need:Successful candidates will have experience in many of the following areas:3 years of experience as a detection engineer, security engineer, security analyst, threat intelligence analyst, or related fieldKnowledge of current cyber threats and how to detect them using SIEM and relevant technologies Relevant industry certifications (i.e. GCFA, GCDA, GCIH, etc.)Experience with analyzing large datasets across a variety of vendors and technologiesExperience working with SIEM solutions (LogScale, Splunk, SumoLogic, Sentinel, QRadar, LogRhythm, etc)Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and AI coding agents, with hands-on experience integrating or building LLM-assisted workflows a plusPython or other scripting experience strongly preferredA curious, self-motivated mindset with a high standard for your own workProven experience utilizing AI technologies to enhance decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, improve efficiency and drive business outcomes.#LI-RC2#LI-RemoteBenefits of Working at CrowdStrike:Market leader in compensation and equity awardsComprehensive physical and mental wellness programsCompetitive vacation and holidays for rechargePaid parental and adoption leavesProfessional development opportunities for all employees regardless of level or roleEmployee Networks, geographic neighborhood groups, and volunteer opportunities to build connectionsVibrant office culture with world class amenitiesGreat Place to Work CertifiedTM across the globeCrowdStrike is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
