Position: Associate Lawyer

Anticipated Start Date: Immediate

We are a reputable criminal defence law firm seeking a highly motivated and skilled Associate to join our growing team of advocates

1-3 year call $70,000-$85,000

3-5 year call with sufficient trial experience in Criminal law: starting at $90,000

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of criminal files including multiple high-profile homicide cases under the mentorship of senior counsel.

Responsibilities:

- Managing and conducting set dates
- Reviewing disclosure, conducting legal research, and writing
- Managing files from arrest to trial
- Conducting bail hearings
- Conducting CPTs and JPTs
- Conducting pleas and resolutions
- Regularly communicating with clients and managing the client relationship
- Conducting trials and preliminary hearings

Skills and Requirements:

- 1-5 year call with experience in criminal law
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Passionate about ensuring the highest quality defence for every client
- Excellent research and writing skills,



with the ability to work independently
- Flexible schedule; availability outside of regular office hours is required
- Friendly demeanor and strong communication skills with clients and Crowns
- Confidence and comfort in making submissions in court
- Quick study and eager to learn

- Valid driver's license and access to a car as needed
