Laboratory Technician — Syntra, Halifax, NS

Syntra is a Halifax-based company developing technology to produce battery-grade materials. We're a small team working on process development and scale-up.

The role

You'll support day-to-day lab work in our Halifax facility. The work is hands-on and varied, and you'll take ownership of it.

- Prepare solutions, reagents and samples
- Run bench-scale experiments and flag or fix problems as they come up
- Perform routine analysis and record results accurately
- Maintain lab equipment, manage inventory and housekeeping, and identify gaps before they slow the work
- Follow and help improve laboratory safety, chemical-handling and waste-procedures
- Keep clean, complete lab records

What we're looking for

- Diploma or degree in chemistry, chemical technology, chemical engineering or a related field
- Solid understanding of inorganic chemistry
- Strong wet chemistry technique: accurate weighing, dilutions, titrations and solution preparation
- Comfortable with lab calculations: concentrations,



stoichiometry and mass balances
- Careful, consistent and reliable in how you work, with disciplined record-keeping
- Able to troubleshoot when results don't make sense
- Takes ownership: sees what needs doing, does it, and follows through
- Uses positive judgment on when to act independently and when to escalate
- Comfortable handling laboratory chemicals safely

Nice to have

- Experience in process chemistry or process development
- Familiarity with common analytical techniques
- WHMIS training
