Lane Closure Technician (LCT)

Community Traffic Control Ltd. is looking for experienced Lane Closure Technicians (LCTs) to join our growing team!

We are seeking reliable, safety-focused individuals who take pride in their work and have experience with highway traffic control operations.

Our work includes a variety of projects, including:

- Planned construction and maintenance projects
- Emergency highway call-outs
- Highway lane and shoulder closures
- Short-term and long-term traffic management operations

Key Responsibilities

- Safely set up, maintain, and dismantle traffic control zones in accordance with approved Traffic Management Plans (TMPs) and the BC Traffic Management Manual.
- Operate company traffic control vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Ensure proper signage, spacing, and traffic control devices are in place and maintained throughout each shift.
- Identify potential hazards, assess changing site conditions, and take corrective action when required.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, contractors, and the travelling public.
- Assist with emergency highway response and traffic management operations.
- Complete required daily documentation, inspections, and safety assessments.
- Maintain a professional attitude and demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety.





Qualifications & Requirements
- Valid BC Traffic Control Person (TCP) Certification – Required
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence – Required
- Previous experience as a Lane Closure Technician (LCT) is strongly preferred.
- Experience with highway traffic control setups, signage requirements, and the BC Traffic Management Manual.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and road conditions.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
- Strong attention to detail and a safety-first mindset.
