Job Overview

We seek a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and a commitment to delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced restaurant environment. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in food preparation and meal assembly, ensuring that each dish meets our standards for taste and presentation.

Duties

- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed during food preparation and handling.
- Assist in the setup and breakdown of the kitchen at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including proper storage of food items.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, communicating needs to management as necessary.
- Help train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.

Experience

- Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is preferred,



with familiarity in food service operations.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling is essential.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail in meal preparation.
- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff.
- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn current techniques in the culinary arts is highly valued.

Education

- Secondary School (preferred)

Experience:
- Cooking: 3 years (preferred)

Language:
- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
- Food Handler Certification (preferred)
- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
