Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Hotel General Manager, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for smooth operation of the Maintenance Department, with safety and security of guests and staff as top priority. Among other duties and responsibilities, Maintenance Manager is responsible for hotel’s Preventative Maintenance Program, Fire Safety and Procedures, and working in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act This is a hands-on position and entails general maintenance and repair of building, equipment and furnishings.

Key Responsibilities

- Light repair of equipment, building and furnishings
- Perform preventative maintenance in rooms and public areas
- Regular inspections of equipment - troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment, facilities and systems (including HVAC and electrical)
- Diagnose potential problems
- Work with contractors
- Order supplies
- Coordinate the maintenance staff
- Schedules
- Organize special projects




- Prioritize and respond to all guests/rooms and internal requests, promptly and effectively, as required
- Communicate and interact with guests, work independently and productively and prioritize and handle multiple assignments
- Outdoor work includes but not limited to: Summer – planting, maintenance of garden, Winter - snow removal, All year – cleaning and maintenance of grounds including parking garage, waste removal
- Maintain positive internal and external relationships and communicate with internal colleagues to advise of guest service needs, items which require maintenance, issues or concerns in a prompt, proactive manner as appropriate.
- Accurately maintain work-order and other tracking systems.
- Ensure compliance to all hotel policies, standards, procedures and practices.
- Actively demonstrate teamwork, safe work practices, open communication, accuracy in transactions, respect, sincerity, helpfulness and courtesy.
- Work with other departments in any capacity as needed - Assist other associates/ departments and undertake other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required

Requirements

- Previous maintenance experience (accepting candidates who are completing their education and / or beginning their career in trades)
- Technically inclined
- Willing to learn




- Must possess good communication and customer service skills
- Driver’s License
- Maintenance: 2 years (required)
- Management: 2 years (required)
- Hotel Maintenance: 1 year (preferred)

· Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada

Compensation

· Expected Wage: $50,000 - $55,000 annually
