Who We Are

UpMeals is a fresh food manufacturer producing ready-to-eat meals from our facilities in Vancouver and Calgary. We produce approximately 14,000 meals per week for grocery retailers, corporate clients and universities across British Columbia and Alberta.

All products are made in-house by our own production team, giving us full control over quality, food safety and consistency. Our focus is making healthy, high-quality meals accessible wherever our customers work, study and shop.

With a team of approximately 55 employees, UpMeals is growing quickly and expanding into new markets and channels. This role offers the chance to help build the HR foundation that supports that growth, from hiring and onboarding to policies and employee support.

You are comfortable working hands-on in a production setting, following structured processes, and supporting a fast-paced team. You take ownership of your tasks, follow schedules closely, and contribute positively to overall operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Kitchen Maintenance & Organization

Schedule: Saturday: 9 am - 4 pm

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, prep, and storage areas
- Build, install, and adjust shelving or storage racks to improve workspace organization
- Perform minor maintenance and repair tasks using basic tools, including: Drill, Screwdrivers
- Assembly and tightening tools
- Assemble or repair shelves, racks,



and storage equipment
- Help optimize kitchen and storage spaces for operational efficiency
- Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance needs
- Support overall kitchen operations while maintaining food safety standards

2. Order Receiving & Inventory Support Schedule: Monday & Friday: 8:30 am - 3.30 pm

- Receive and verify incoming deliveries against invoices and purchase orders
- Inspect products for quality, quantity, and expiry dates
- Organize and store inventory using FIFO procedures
- Report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to management
- Assist with moving and organizing inventory throughout the facility

3. Driving & Transportation Support

As Needed

- Transport products, supplies, or materials between company locations
- Load and unload products and materials safely
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of company vehicles

Qualifications

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is an asset.
- Clean driving record preferred
- Comfortable using basic maintenance and assembly tools
- Ability to lift and move boxes, equipment, and materials
- Previous experience in kitchen operations, warehouse, maintenance, or cleaning is an asset
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Food Safe Certification is an asset or willingness to obtain

Pay: $18.25-$20.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 24.0 per week
