Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Management Accountant is a key role within the Vercity finance team. The finance team is responsible for the financial management of multiple infrastructure projects across Canada and the United States within a Public Private Partnership (P3) setting. Duties primarily include overseeing day-to-day accounting, maintenance of financial records, overseeing the processing of payments and invoices, and supporting the overall financial management of project companies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accounts-payable function including the review of a summary of recommended payments and supplier statement reconciliation;
- Oversee the accounts-receivable function including the review of sales invoices and credit control;
- Prepare or review of standard and complex monthly journals and posting onto the accounting system;
- Prepare monthly reconciliations and financial statements;
- Prepare month/quarter end reports;
- Assist with year-end audit working papers;
- Communicate and work with various internal & external clients;
- Review of contractual obligations;
- Assist in the budgeting process;
- Participate in the development of the finance function, team and systems;
- Administrative duties as required; and
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Located in Greater Toronto Area.
- Relevant accounting education and/or experience, with 3+ years of working accounting experience considered an asset;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
