This Teaching Assistant appointment follows the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1 Collective Agreement. Applicants should hold a PhD in Mathematics or a related discipline; applicants with an MSc in Mathematics or Statistics may be considered if no PhD applicants apply. The work includes scheduled student contact and non-classroom academic support.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare seminar materials for assigned undergraduate courses
- Consult with students during scheduled support times
- Mark or grade assigned coursework and examinations
- Proctor examinations and attend scheduled lectures
- Hold office hours and complete course administration
Requirements:
- PhD in Mathematics or related discipline preferred
- MSc in Mathematics or Statistics may be considered
- Prior Mathematics or Statistics teaching experience
- Prior Mathematics or Statistics research experience
- Evidence of effective undergraduate university teaching
