Rogers Electro-Mechanical is Atlantic Canada’s leader in electric motor, pump and gearbox repair. Since 1998, we’ve kept the mining, pulp and paper, forestry, marine and industrial sectors running from five locations: Bathurst, Stewiacke, Dartmouth, Wabush and Mount Pearl. We’re the largest rewind shop east of Montreal, ISO 9001:2015 registered, and a CSA-certified repair facility for hazardous locations. With 70+ employees and growing, we’re adding a hands-on mechanic to our Stewiacke shop.

The role

You don’t need a millwright ticket for this job. If you’re a strong mechanic who likes working on rotating equipment, we want to hear from you. You’ll work on the mechanical side of motors, pumps and gearboxes alongside our experienced shop team, with some field work at customer sites.

What you’ll do

- Disassemble motors, pumps and gearboxes, noting parts, configuration and condition
- Inspect and measure shafts, bearing fits and housings, and record findings for damage reports and quotes
- Replace or repair bearings, seals, impellers, couplings, gears, brakes, fans and end shields
- Reassemble and test equipment for proper operation, documenting the work as you go
- Requisition parts and complete work order paperwork accurately and on time
- Assist with occasional field service and installs at customer sites




- Follow all safety procedures and keep a clean, organized work area

What we’re looking for

- 2+ years of mechanical experience: heavy equipment, automotive, industrial mechanic, millwright or similar
- Comfortable with precision measuring tools such as micrometers and dial indicators
- Millwright / Industrial Mechanic Red Seal or apprentice is an asset, not required
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is an asset
- Valid driver’s licence and clean driver’s abstract
- A team player who takes pride in their work
