About Us
Atlas Power Technologies is Canada’s first domestic supercapacitor manufacturer, developing proprietary energy-storage systems for grid, industrial, AI datacentre, transportation, and next-generation power applications.
Built on more than a decade of research, engineering, and collaboration with leading Canadian universities, Atlas has advanced its technology from early-stage development to product validation, certification, and now into scale.
Our supercapacitor technology is engineered to deliver exceptional cycle life, rapid charge and discharge capability, high power density, and reliable performance in demanding operating environments.
Supported by industrial partnerships, financial backing, and growing customer and investor interest, the company has built the foundation required to scale manufacturing and bring Canadian-developed supercapacitor technology to domestic and international markets.
New Career Path
This is an excellent opportunity for an automotive mechanic, equipment technician, or other hands-on professional looking to apply their skills in a new industry. Previous supercapacitor manufacturing experience is not required; training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble supercapacitor modules and subassemblies using hand tools, power tools, torque wrenches, and mechanical fasteners.
- Install, align, and secure mechanical and electrical components; route and connect wiring, install busbars, and apply insulating materials as instructed.
- Use calipers, torque tools, multimeters, and other appropriate measuring instruments to verify assembly requirements.
- Inspect components and completed assemblies for fit, alignment, workmanship, and compliance with specifications; identify, document, and report defects.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical assembly issues, including component fitment, alignment, and fastening problems; escalate electrical or other concerns as required.
- Operate basic production equipment and support module testing under engineering or designated technical supervision.
- Accurately record build data, inspection results, and component identification and traceability information.
- Inspect and care for tools and equipment; assist with routine maintenance and report equipment concerns.
- Work with engineering and production teams to resolve assembly challenges and improve work instructions, quality, safety, and production processes.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace; follow safe work procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and gloves as appropriate.
- Support shipping, receiving, inventory, and other production tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience assembling, maintaining, or repairing equipment or components.
- Confidence using hand tools and power tools; experience with torque wrenches and precision measuring instruments is an asset.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to consistent quality.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to perform repetitive assembly tasks accurately and adapt to production requirements; schedule flexibility may occasionally be needed.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle materials weighing up to 80 lbs, using assistance or lifting equipment where appropriate.
- Commitment to workplace safety, correct PPE use, cleanliness, and accurate recordkeeping.
- Experience as an automotive mechanic, heavy-duty mechanic, equipment repair technician, mechanical assembler, or in a similar hands-on trade is an asset.
- Familiarity with electrical connections, busbars, multimeters, manufacturing quality checks, or component traceability is an asset.
How to Apply Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume, highlighting relevant hands-on mechanical, repair, or assembly experience. We encourage applicants seeking a career change from automotive or equipment repair to apply.
