Job Nature and Scope:

To guide, coordinate and support Team Indigenous NL in accordance with the vision of the ASRCNL and the holistic approach encompassing the components of physical, mental, spiritual, and cultural aspects. To create a positive environment where everyone is treated with respect. The NAIG coordinator will work with all regional staff, Executive Director, Board of Directors and Chef de Mission in bringing Team Indigenous NL to the North American Indigenous Games in Winnipeg, Manitoba, 2028.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Will include but not limited to:

· Overseeing the fundraising initiatives for travel to Winnipeg in July of 2028.

· Promoting the team through different media outlets, ensuring compliance with managing and marketing activities

· Recruiting team Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Managers.

· Coordinating a call out for Indigenous youth interested in trying out for Team Indigenous.

· Ensuring that selection camps happen in collaboration with Coaches and Regional Coordinators throughout the Province.

· Working with Coaches and Managers to select Team Indigenous NL, and to act as the team’s spokesperson.

· Prepare information packages for athletes travelling to Winnipeg in 2028.

· Reporting to Executive Director and Board of Directors monthly on progress.

· Responsible for collecting sizing on team uniforms.

· Creating a budget of cost associated with travel to Winnipeg for all athletes, Coaches, Mission Staff and Cultural contingent.

· Managing the team’s budget, stakeholder communication, as well as performance analysis.

· Familiarity and ability to use GEMS pro.

· Evaluation/Recommendation Report required by August 25, 2028.

Qualifications:

· DegreeDiploma in Sport, Recreation, Community Leadership,



Indigenous Studies or Sport Experienceleadership working with indigenous communities.

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Ability to identify and solve problems in a timely manner.

· Must have experience/knowledge of national and international sporting events

· Ability to multi-task and work with others as a team leader

· Ability to implement and evaluate in an ongoing basics the progress of Team Indigenous NL

Must have or be willing to complete:

· Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check.

· Aboriginal Coaching Module.

· First Aid /CPR.

Must complete a yearly performance review in coordination with the Executive Director and the Regional Manager.

This is a contract position starting December 01, 2026, ending September 01, 2028.

Annual Salary of $55,000.00.
