Great cycling classes are about more than turning pedals. They're about the music, the energy, the challenge, and the feeling riders take with them long after the class ends. At theRichmond Olympic Oval, we're looking for dynamic, passionate, and inspiring indoor cycling instructors who know how to turn a workout into an experience.

Our dedicated OVALfit RIDE studio features Stages SC3 bikes and real-time performance metrics. Whether you're coaching a performance-driven ride or delivering a rhythm-based experience powered by music, you'll have the tools and creative freedom to make every class your own.

Key Responsibilities As an OVALfit RIDE Instructor, you're more than a coach. You're the energy behind the room, the connection between the music and the movement, and the motivation that keeps riders coming back.

You'll have the opportunity to:

- - Own the room: Lead high-energy, engaging, and inclusive cycling experiences that challenge and inspire riders of all fitness levels.
- Bring your personality: Create your own ride style, blending music, motivation, coaching, and performance.
- Make the music matter: Build playlists that create energy, drive intensity, and bring your rides to life.
- Coach with purpose: Use Stages Studio Pro™ technology and performance metrics to help riders track progress, push their limits, and celebrate achievements.

Create meaningful connections with riders and foster an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and motivated.
- Deliver an exceptional experience: Prepare thoughtful class profiles, ensure the studio and technology are ready, and create a seamless experience from warm-up to cooldown.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

We're looking for instructors who bring a combination of coaching expertise, musical creativity, and genuine enthusiasm for helping people move.

Qualifications

- - Current indoor cycling certification (BCRPA, canfitpro, Stages Studio®, or equivalent)
- Current CPR certification and personal liability insurance
- Strong understanding of exercise physiology, anatomy, modifications, and safe exercise practices
- Confident communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate a diverse group of riders
- Ability to successfully complete a Criminal Record Check
- Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays

What Will Set You Apart

- - Previous group fitness or indoor cycling instruction experience (minimum six months preferred)
- Confidence leading and energizing classes of 21+ riders
- Experience designing both performance-based and rhythm-based cycling classes
- Understanding of FTP-based training, performance metrics, and structured ride profiles
- Passion for music, including playlist development, beat matching, and musical countdowns




- Familiarity with Stages Studio Pro™ or similar performance technology (training provided)
- Additional fitness certifications or experience working with diverse populations

Availability: Shifts vary, but will include mornings, evenings and weekends Compensation range: $44.12 - $58.83 as per the Collective Agreement, plus 12% in lieu of benefits (hourly rate is based on qualifications and experience)

Please note: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a live teaching demonstration as part of the selection process.
