DailySupport is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide one-on-one home care for an existing client in Oshawa, Ontario.
The ideal candidate must be comfortable working evening shifts and providing care in a home where the client smokes.
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, activities of daily living, mobility, and transfers.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Assist with meal preparation and medication reminders within the PSW scope of practice.
- Perform light housekeeping, including laundry, dishes, and general tidying.
- Follow the client's individualized care plan.
- Monitor and report changes in the client's condition.
- Maintain accurate service records and required documentation.
Requirements
- Valid PSW certificate or equivalent nursing qualification.
- Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check or acceptable Police Record Check.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Must be available for evening shifts from 4:00 p.m. until approximately 9:00–10:00 p.m.
- Must be comfortable working in a home where the client smokes.
- Dependable, punctual, respectful, and professional.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous home-care or community-care experience.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience supporting clients with disabilities, mobility limitations, or motor vehicle accident (MVA) injuries.
