Personal Trainer — Everybody Stronger (Calgary, AB)

Job type: [Full-time / Part time / Contract]

Pay: [$XX–$XX per hour / session]

Location: [Address], Calgary, AB

Start date: [Date / As soon as possible]

About Everybody Stronger

Everybody Stronger is a hyper-inclusive fitness and body care space built on a simple idea: everybody belongs here, and everybody deserves to get stronger on their own terms.

We are size-inclusive, queer-friendly, and trauma-informed. That isn’t a tagline we put on the wall — it shapes how we coach, how we talk about bodies, how our space is laid out, and who we hire. Our members include people who have never set foot in a gym, people who have been made to feel unwelcome in gyms, people managing chronic pain or injury, and people who simply want to train somewhere that doesn’t centre weight loss or a single “ideal” body.

Under one roof we offer:

- Fitness: personal training, small group training, team training, and yoga therapy
- Body care: chiropractic, acupuncture, massage therapy, and dietitian services

That means as a trainer you’re part of a collaborative care team, not working in isolation. You’ll have practitioners down the hall to refer to, consult with, and learn from.

The role

We’re looking for a personal trainer who is skilled, curious, and committed to inclusive coaching. You’ll work one-on-one with clients, lead small group and team training sessions, and help people build strength, capacity, and confidence in ways that fit their bodies and their lives.

What you’ll do

- Deliver one-on-one personal training sessions tailored to each client’s goals, abilities, history, and comfort level
- Coach small group and team training sessions that are welcoming to people across a wide range of sizes,

ages, fitness levels, and abilities
- Conduct intake and movement assessments with a consent-based, trauma-informed approach
- Design progressive programs that prioritize strength, function, and sustainability over aesthetics
- Scale and modify exercises on the fly so every participant in a session is appropriately challenged and never singled out
- Collaborate with our chiropractor, acupuncturist, massage therapists, and dietitian to support clients holistically
- Maintain clear, respectful client notes and communicate progress
- Help us keep the space safe, clean, and welcoming—physically and culturally

Who you are

- Certified personal trainer (CSEP-CPT, NSCA-CPT, ACE, NASM, CanFitPro, or equivalent) with current First Aid/CPR
- 3+ years of coaching experience, or a strong practicum background with the right values and eagerness to grow
- Genuinely comfortable coaching people in larger bodies, disabled people, 2SLGBTQIA+ people, older adults, and beginners—and able to show it in how you cue, adjust, and talk about bodies
- Familiar with trauma-informed practice (consent before touch, choice and control for the client, awareness of triggers in a gym environment), or ready to be trained in it
- Skilled at modifying movements for pain, injury, mobility limitations, and different body shapes
- Warm, patient,

and a strong communicator—you make people feel capable, not judged
- Willing to use weight-neutral language and leave diet culture at the door
- Lived experience as a member of an under-represented community in fitness is an asset, not a requirement

Nice to have

- Experience with pre/postnatal, pain-free movement, or adaptive training
- Group fitness or team coaching experience
- Background or interest in yoga, mobility, or strength sport
- Additional training in mental health first aid, Safer Spaces, or similar

What we offer

- Competitive per-session rate, plus commission
- A steady client base and support with scheduling — you focus on coaching
- Paid onboarding in our inclusive and trauma-informed coaching approach
- Ongoing professional development and a budget for continuing education
- Discounted body care services (chiro, acupuncture, massage, dietitian)
- A team that shares your values and has your back

How to apply

Send your resume and a short note (a few sentences is plenty) telling us what inclusive fitness means to you and why you’d like to coach at Everybody Stronger. We care more about your values and your coaching than a polished cover letter.

Everybody Stronger is committed to building a team that reflects the communities we serve. We strongly encourage applications from 2SLGBTQIA+ people, people in larger bodies, Indigenous, Black, and racialized people, disabled people, and anyone who has felt excluded from traditional fitness spaces. If you need any accommodation during the application or interview process, just let us know.

Pay: $47.00-$58.00 per hour

Benefits

- Casual dress
- Flexible schedule
- On-site gym
- On-site parking

Work Location: In person
