Overview:

We are looking for dedicated, BC-licensed physicians to give on-site medical coverage for an upcoming clinical trial at our Kamloops site. The ideal candidate is a practising GP or emergency physician who is comfortable with acute assessment and wants flexible casual work alongside their own practice. You don’t need clinical research experience; we provide full protocol and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training.

Responsibilities:

- Be in office for scheduled study days (about 6–8 hours per day).
- Use downtime for your own admin, charting or telehealth work. We provide a workspace.
- Assess participants and manage adverse events as they come up.
- Give rescue medications per study protocol when needed.
- Work under the oversight of the study’s Principal Investigator.
- Keep accurate, complete records of any clinical involvement.
- Follow GCP, ethical standards and the regulations governing clinical trials.
- Work closely with the research team and other healthcare professionals.
- Attend study-specific training sessions as required.

Requirements:

- Active,



unrestricted licence with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
- Currently practising, preferably in family medicine, emergency medicine or a related field
- Comfortable with acute assessment and emergency response
- Clinical research experience is an asset but not required
- Strong communication skills and a calm, skilled manner
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

Compensation and Benefits:

- Standby rate: $160/hour for on-site coverage
- Clinical rate: $320/hour when actively involved in patient care
- Flexible scheduling, so you choose the days that work for you
- Paid time on-site that you can use for your own work
