Role Description As a Principal Software Engineer at Accion Labs, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of complex, scalable software solutions for enterprise clients in a remote contract capacity. You will architect back-end systems, oversee coding standards and best practices, and guide the technical direction of projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, and other engineers.

Your responsibilities will include reviewing and optimizing code, mentoring engineering teams,



conducting technical reviews, and ensuring system reliability, security, and performance. You will also contribute to solution design using modern frameworks and tools, participate in backlog refinement and sprint planning, and help define reusable patterns and components that support Accion Labs’ AI-first and platform-led offerings. In addition, you will stay current with emerging technologies, propose improvements to existing systems, and support client stakeholders with clear technical communication and documentation.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Hands-on expertise in Software Development and Programming across modern languages and frameworks.
- Deep experience in Back-End Web Development, building scalable APIs and distributed services.
- Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and related design patterns.
- Experience as a technical lead or principal engineer, guiding teams on complex projects.
- Background in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices architectures is highly beneficial.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote, cross-cultural environment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience with AI/ML, data platforms
