Our client

Our client is a global manufacturer of membrane-based water treatment systems, designing and building engineered plants for municipal drinking water and industrial water customers across North America.

The Role:

This role is remote and open to candidates based anywhere in Canada. With preference for engineers in Calgary, Toronto or Quebec City.

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer with a background in membrane treatment to take ownership of process design on drinking water and industrial water projects. You will support opportunities from quotation through to award, then carry the process design through detailed engineering, factory testing and commissioning. You will work closely with Mechanical, Controls, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering throughout.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead process sizing and technical input on quotations and applications engineering for UF and RO systems, including budgetary estimates and proposal support.
- Develop detailed process designs for awarded drinking water and industrial water treatment projects.
- Prepare and maintain Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;).
- Perform process calculations, membrane system design, hydraulic analyses and equipment sizing.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Controls, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering through project execution.
- Review vendor documentation and confirm equipment compliance with project requirements.
- Support procurement with technical evaluations and engineering clarifications.
- Resolve technical issues during fabrication, assembly,



factory acceptance testing, installation and commissioning.
- Take part in design reviews and engineering change management, and act as a technical resource for less experienced engineers.

About You

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or a related engineering discipline.
- 5 to 15 years of process engineering experience in drinking water or industrial water treatment.
- Hands-on design experience with ultrafiltration and/or reverse osmosis systems is strongly preferred.
- Background with an equipment manufacturer, packaged systems provider or OEM is ideal, whether in applications engineering, detailed design or a mix of both.
- Robust command of water treatment processes and the engineering documentation that goes with them, including specifications, P&IDs; and technical drawings.
- Organised, comfortable coordinating across disciplines, and able to manage several projects at once.
- AutoCAD Plant 3D experience, familiarity with PLC-controlled process systems, and SAP experience are all a plus.
- P.Eng or EIT is a plus.
- Based in Canada, eligible to travel to the US, and open to occasional travel to manufacturing facilities, project sites and customer locations.
