About Progressive Life Centre
At Progressive Life Centre (PLC), we believe learning does not stop in adolescence. We support adults with autism and developmental disabilities to develop practical skills, pursue meaningful goals, and participate more fully in their communities.
Through hands-on learning, participants have opportunities to build skills in areas such as communication, self-advocacy, cooking, household routines, health and wellness, employment readiness, and community participation. Our programs are designed to go beyond supervision and create opportunities for growth, independence, and connection.
Our goal is to become the premier learning facility for adults in the developmental disabilities sector. As we continue to grow, we are looking for someone who shares that vision and wants to help us elevate the quality of our programs and the way we teach.
About the opportunity
This is a unique, hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who loves teaching, developing meaningful programs, and helping others grow as facilitators.
The Learning &
Skills Development Lead will work directly alongside participants and staff while supervising and coaching facilitators, writing life skills programs, and supporting the quality and consistency of our core services. Approximately 20–30 hours per week will be spent on the program floor, supporting learning and modelling effective teaching strategies with the rest of the time designing new programs, supporting other facilitators in their teaching development, and overall raising the standard for program quality at PLC.
You will help turn participants’ goals into practical learning opportunities and support our facilitators in delivering them with confidence. You’ll also have an opportunity to contribute ideas,
improve existing programs, and help shape the next stage of PLC’s growth.
