Medico Construction & Design Ltd. is a Surrey-based general contractor that specializes in healthcare tenant improvements: optometry clinics, medical and dental clinics, and pharmacies. We handle design and construction from start to finish for healthcare operators across Western Canada. Medico is growing into a group of companies that will also cover real estate, equipment, finance and marketing for the healthcare sector, so there is real room to grow with us.
The role
We are looking for a Project Coordinator to support our Project Managers and Site Superintendent on healthcare tenant improvement projects. This is a great role for someone early in their construction career who wants to grow into project management.
What you will do
- Track RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and change orders
- Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, schedules and project documents
- Help gather subcontractor and supplier quotes and set up purchase orders
- Keep drawings and specifications current and organized
- Coordinate permits, inspections and deliveries with the site team
- Collect closeout documents: warranties, O&M; manuals and as-builts
- Help prepare progress billings and track budgets
What you bring
- 1–3 years of experience in construction coordination, or a related diploma or degree (Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture)
- Comfortable reading drawings and specifications
- Strong skills in Excel and Microsoft Office; Procore, JobTread or Bluebeam is an asset
- Very organized, with strong follow-up and communication
- Eager to learn and grow into a Project Manager role
