Role purpose The Project Engineer will serve as the company’s day-to-day representative at one assigned construction site. The role is responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising artisans and subcontractors, monitoring progress and workmanship, implementing the approved project plan and schedule, and providing timely, accurate reports to the office.

The Project

Engineer will coordinate with the visiting Structural Engineer and other appointed consultants, while ensuring that technical decisions and approvals remain with the appropriately qualified professionals.

Key responsibilities

· Review the project brief, approved drawings, specifications, scope, budget information and contractual requirements before and during execution.

· Participate in site mobilisation, site assessment, setting out coordination and preparation for commencement of works.

· Prepare and maintain a practical project execution plan, work breakdown structure and baseline construction programme for management review.

· Break the programme into phases, activities, dependencies, milestones and weekly/daily work targets.

· Coordinate daily site activities and sequence the work of artisans, labourers, subcontractors and specialist trades.

· Assign and communicate daily tasks, monitor attendance and productivity, and follow up on agreed outputs.

· Check work against approved drawings, specifications, method statements and quality requirements; raise non-conformances promptly.

· Coordinate inspections with the Structural Engineer and other consultants, including preparing inspection requests, records and outstanding query lists.

· Ensure that work requiring inspection or approval is not covered up or progressed beyond the relevant hold point without the required clearance.

· Track materials, deliveries, usage, storage and wastage; raise timely,



properly supported material requests through the company’s approval process.

· Monitor project progress against the approved programme and identify risks to time, quality, cost, safety or scope.

· Prepare and submit daily site reports and weekly progress summaries, supported by dated photographs and relevant records.

· Escalate delays, design conflicts, variations, incidents, safety concerns, resource gaps and decisions requiring management or consultant input.

· Maintain site records, including labour attendance, daily activities, delivery notes, inspection records, instructions, issues and progress photographs.

· Promote safe working practices, positive housekeeping and compliance with applicable site rules and safety requirements.

· Support testing, snagging, defect rectification, documentation and handover at project completion.

Required qualifications and experience

· A degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction Management or a closely related discipline.

· Relevant practical experience supervising building construction projects. Experience from inception through completion is strongly preferred.

· Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and relevant services drawings.

· Demonstrable experience coordinating artisans, subcontractors and site activities.

· Working knowledge of construction sequencing, quality checks, site safety and progress reporting.

· Ability to prepare and update construction schedules using Excel and/or project scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.

· Clear written and verbal communication, sound judgement, organisation and accountability.

· Willingness and ability to remain at the assigned site on a daily basis and travel as required for project duties.

Pay: ₦350,000.00 - ₦400,000.00 per month
