Medico Construction & Design Ltd. is a Surrey-based general contractor that specializes in healthcare tenant improvements: optometry clinics, medical and dental clinics, and pharmacies. We handle design and construction from start to finish for healthcare operators across Western Canada. Medico is growing into a group of companies that will also cover real estate, equipment, finance and marketing for the healthcare sector, so there is real room to grow with us.

The role

Medico is hiring an experienced Project Manager to lead healthcare tenant improvement projects from contract to closeout. You will own budget, schedule, quality and the client relationship on clinic, dental and pharmacy build-outs.

What you will do

- Manage several projects from pre-construction through closeout
- Build and manage project budgets, cost reports and forecasts
- Prepare and maintain project schedules
- Tender scopes, then buy out and manage subcontractors and suppliers
- Manage RFIs, change orders, progress billings and holdbacks
- Lead client, consultant and owner meetings
- Work closely with the Site Superintendent on safety, quality and progress
- Make sure work meets contract, BC Building Code and permit requirements

What you bring





- 5+ years of commercial construction experience, including 3+ years as a Project Manager
- Proven tenant improvement experience; healthcare, dental or pharmacy fit-outs are a strong asset
- Strong knowledge of CCDC contracts, the BC Builders Lien Act and the BC Building Code
- Skilled in estimating, scheduling and cost control (MS Project, Procore, JobTread or similar)
- Excellent client-facing communication and negotiation skills
- Construction Management diploma or degree, or PMP or GSC, is an asset

- Valid driver's licence
