Amhurst Property Management
Calgary
If you spend your evenings scrolling rental listings, can't drive past an open house sign without wondering what the kitchen looks like, and have opinions about which neighbourhoods are underpriced, we'd like to meet you.
Amhurst is an established Calgary firm managing a mixed residential and condominium portfolio from our downtown office. We're known for responsive service, and we're hiring a Rental Administrator who wants to build a long-term career in property management. We'll teach you the industry, but what we can't teach is curiosity, follow-through and a genuine interest in how homes and buildings work.
What you'll do
- Coordinate Maintenance and repairs: coordinate plumbers, electricians, and other trades. Schedule preventative maintenance and follow up until work is complete.
- Inspections: schedule unit and seasonal inspections, document maintenance issues and safety concerns, and prepare written reports for owners.
- Contractors and vendors: obtain and compare quotes, coordinate access and scheduling, open and close service orders, and verify invoices before payment.
- Leasing: process applications and reference checks, prepare leases and supporting documents, coordinate move-ins and move-outs, explain deposits and move-in requirements to prospective tenants, and track vacancies and upcoming lease expiries.
- Rent and accounts: monitor monthly payments, send reminders, follow up on arrears, track security deposits, work with accounting on reconciliations,
and escalate persistent arrears appropriately.
- Tenancy administration: keep tenant files organized, track renewals and notice deadlines, handle maintenance requests and building notices, and report on occupancy, vacancies and collections.
- Building better systems: help us develop consistent procedures as the portfolio grows.
Who we're looking for Attitude matters more to us than experience. You'll do well here if you:
- Want a career in property management, not just a job
- Learn quickly, ask valuable questions and take feedback well
- Have a reliable system for staying organized and following up
- Write and speak clearly and professionally, by phone and email
- Stay calm and courteous with tenants, owners and trades, especially when things go sideways
- Handle confidential information with honesty and discretion
- Are comfortable with Microsoft Office
We'll train you on our property management software, the Residential Tenancies Act and the Condominium Property Act. Admin or customer service experience and a valid driver's licence are helpful but not required. To apply, email your resume and a short cover letter to
[email protected]. Tell us where you want your career to be in five years, and describe the last rental listing you saw that made you think, "that's priced wrong."
Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
