Kitchener Physiotherapy & wellness is looking for a full-time Physiotherapist Assistant (PTA) to join our team.

Responsibilities

- Assist Physiotherapist/Chiropractor in client care and carry out a treatment plan
- Treat each client with confidence and respectful manners
- Keep the rehabilitation area and modalities clean and tidy
- Follow and implement treatment plans designed by the treating Physiotherapist (you will be working with more than one physiotherapist)
- Application of modalities like ultrasound, laser, IFC, TNES, other electrotherapy, hot pack, paraffin wax and shockwave (when indicated)
- Exhibit proper communication with patients
- If a particular treatment plan doesn't work for the client, communicate with the treating therapist to change their plan of care
- Help patients with active exercises and progress their exercise to the next level when they are physically ready as per the Physiotherapists instruction




- Help with scheduling and follow-up appointments as needed. Help front-end staff to keep a track of clients' numbers.
- Document proper SOAP notes in a timely manner as per the Ontario Physiotherapy College requirement
- Answer calls to book patients, and provide some administration support where needed
- Communicate the patient's progress to the treating therapist.

Requirements:
- Must graduate with OTA /PTA diploma program or have successfully completed a Bachelors of Kinesiology program or Registered with College
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Must come to work on time and provide quality care to our clients
- Minimum of one-year commitment needed for this job
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and in a busy work environment
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with all team members
