Summary

BJ’s Truck Centre is looking for an experienced Red Seal Heavy-Duty Equipment/Truck & Transport Technician to join our team from Monday – Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.

This is a great chance for a skilled technician looking to join a busy, full-service heavy-duty truck and diesel repair facility where quality workmanship, safety, and teamwork are valued.

Responsibilities

- Perform routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, and servicing on heavy-duty trucks, equipment, and other vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, brake, transmission, and diesel engine systems.
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify mechanical issues, safety concerns, and required repairs.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately troubleshoot and resolve vehicle faults.
- Complete repairs efficiently and effectively while maintaining a high standard of quality workmanship.
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding vehicle condition, repairs, and recommended maintenance.
- Stay current with industry standards, technology,



diagnostic equipment, and technical training.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper care and maintenance of tools and shop equipment.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to complete work safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all safety requirements and quality standards outlined in the PEI Occupational Health and Safety Act, PEI Occupational Health and Safety General Regulations, and BJ’s Truck Centre Safety Management System.
- Identify health and safety deficiencies and support Management in implementing appropriate solutions or report concerns when required.
- Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

- Red Seal Heavy-Duty Equipment/Truck & Transport Technician certification.
- Strong experience working with heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, equipment, and related mechanical systems.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, hydraulics, and other heavy-duty vehicle systems.
- Proven ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy, fast-paced shop workplace.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

What We Offer

- $35 – $40/hour based on experience
- Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
