We're a periodontal specialty office looking for an experienced Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our team on a temporary basis! This position is anticipated to last 8 - 12 weeks, with the possibility of extension depending on the needs of the practice.
We're looking for a confident, experienced RDA who can adapt quickly to a busy specialty practice. Previous periodontal experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience with periodontal procedures and surgical assisting.
Our experienced RDA team will provide support and training to help you become familiar with our office and procedures.
We offer a consistent Tuesday-to-Friday schedule, with no evenings or weekends.
What You'll Be Doing
- Assisting chairside during periodontal and surgical procedures.
- Helping RDAs and hygienists with treatment room turnover between patients.
- Cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining infection prevention and control standards.
- Taking digital radiographs, intraoral scans (IOS), and CBCT scans.
- Assisting with treatment planning and clinical preparation.
- Performing administrative duties as needed.
- Monitoring inventory and assisting with supply orders.
Qualifications
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification required.
- Current registration and eligibility to practice in Alberta.
- Previous periodontal experience strongly preferred.
- Experience with periodontal surgery and surgical assisting is a significant asset.
- Minimum 2 years of dental assisting experience preferred.
- Familiarity with digital radiographs, intraoral scanning (IOS), and CBCT imaging.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a busy clinical environment.
- Reliable, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively with others.
What We Offer
- Competitive hourly wage of $30.00–$40.00, depending on experience.
- Consistent Tuesday-to-Friday schedule, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
