Job Overview

As a Respite Worker, you provide attentive, person-centred support that gives individuals and their families dependable care and time to recharge. The role may involve supporting people in home or residential settings, with duties shaped by each person’s needs and care plan.

Duties

- Assist with mentally disabilities adult care, caregiving, and daily routines while respecting each person’s preferences and independence.
- Is able to take adult out for outings i.e. gym, grocery store, library, walks and hikes, fun reactional
- Prepare meals, help maintain a clean and comfortable environment, and support safe movement
- Must be able to do heavy lifting during tantrums and seizures or when appropriate to the care plan.
- Provide medication administration and support related to cognitive disabilities,



seizures in line with assigned responsibilities and established procedures.

Skills Required: Practical caregiving, meal preparation, taking adult on outings, explicit communication, and the ability to follow care plans and safety procedures are important to this role. Must have experience: with medication administration, heavy lifting, experience working with individuals with mental disabilities especially those who have Autism. Have a valid driver's license and vehicle for outings

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
