Role Description The Senior Associate will handle a variety of corporate and commercial files, including drafting and negotiating agreements, reviewing contracts, and advising clients on business law issues. Day-to-day tasks include managing transactions from initial structuring through closing, preparing legal memoranda and opinions, and coordinating with clients, counterparties, and external advisors. The role involves conducting legal research, supporting due diligence processes, and ensuring that all work complies with applicable laws and regulations.

The Senior

Associate will also contribute to internal knowledge-sharing and practice development, including mentoring junior team members when required.



This is a remote contract role, offering flexibility while requiring reliable availability and consistent communication with the team and clients.

Qualifications

- Strong experience in business law, including corporate structuring, commercial contracts, and transactional work.
- Proficiency in legal drafting, contract review, and negotiation, with attention to detail and risk management.
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research and prepare transparent, well-reasoned written analyses and client communications.
- Excellent time management, file organization, and matter management skills in a remote work environment.
- Comfort working directly with clients, providing practical advice, and maintaining professional relationships.
- Licensed to practice law in a relevant Canadian jurisdiction, with several years of post-call experience in business or corporate law.
- Strong digital literacy, including use of legal research tools, document management systems, and remote collaboration platforms.
- Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and inclusive, respectful collaboration with diverse colleagues and clients.
