This position is shared position with Holy Name of Mary, St. Joseph's Academy and St. Lawrence Academy. As School Counsellor, you will be a part of the school-based service delivery team and be responsible for the development of an annual comprehensive school guidance program which outlines the implementation of interventions that promote the holistic development of students. Reporting to the Principal or designate, you will provide leadership to school staff, service to students, implement assessments, and participate in response planning for possible critical incidents/traumatic events. As part of the school's service delivery team you will further the aims and objectives of NLSchools and support improved educational opportunities through program support. As a School Counsellor, your work will be guided by the application of the Standards of Practice for School Counsellors which are:



comprehensive school guidance program; education system and ethical responsibilities; student development, diversity; comprehensive assessment; counseling and career development; and crisis intervention. Additional information regarding the Standards can be found here: The Standards of Practice for School Counsellors REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Annual Teacher Salary Scale contained within the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement and advantages contained within the agreement. Applicants without the required qualifications may be considered in accordance with Clause 37.01 (d) of the provincial collective agreement.
