We are seeking a temporary Manager of Cultivation for a 5 person team of 4 technicians and 1 specialist of irrigation.

You will be responsible for all aspects of the Cultivation department within our R&D; facility, focusing on managing live plant germplasm and ensuring crop programs and trials for our Breeding & Genetics programs are delivered on time and in good health.

You will manage the Cultivation team, implementing best practices and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for environmental, nutrient, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies.

- Manage the Priva greenhouse operating system to maintain smooth and consistent environmental conditions, nutrient, and irrigation strategies, including making seasonal adjustments.
- Oversee and develop the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program for effective pest and disease management.
- Interpret media, water, and plant nutrient analysis to adjust fertigation recipes and crop irrigation strategies.
- Support the team in acquiring knowledge related to best practices in propagation, transplanting, crop maintenance, and record management.
- Monitor and enforce data collection for crop management and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee and respond to greenhouse alarms, reporting to Senior Leadership to mitigate risks and facilitate continuous improvements.

Qualifications Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Plant Science, or a related field.




- Minimum of 3 years in a management or people-management role.
- Minimum of 3 years in a Grower or Lead Grower position in a greenhouse environment.
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with Priva and/or other complex high-tech Greenhouse operating systems.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

- In-depth knowledge of cannabis cultivation techniques, plant nutrition, and pest management.
- Proven experience in IPM, particularly related to Cannabis and Health Canada regulations.
- Familiarity with contemporary greenhouse operational systems including Priva, irrigation, air handling, and lighting.
- Experience with commercial plant propagation; experience with cannabis or hemp propagation and cultivation is an asset.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word).

Working Conditions

This role involves working in greenhouse environmental conditions (heat, humidity, supplemental lighting) and adherence to biosecurity and hygienic practices. The work is active and mobile, including standing, sitting, kneeling, crouching, bending, twisting, and lifting up to 25kgs.

Pay: $40.00-$52.00 per hour
