Role Overview – Retail Sales Supervisor
MediTerra Grocery is seeking a Retail Sales Supervisor to oversee and coordinate the day-to-day activities of its retail operations in Bedford, Nova Scotia. The Retail Sales Supervisor will be responsible for supervising sales staff, organizing work schedules, maintaining inventory and merchandising standards, resolving customer service matters, and ensuring the store operates efficiently and in accordance with company procedures.
The position requires a hands-on supervisor who can support employees during daily operations, maintain high customer service standards, monitor stock levels and product presentation, and assist management with the smooth opening, operation and closing of the store. The role is consistent with the responsibilities already identified in the employer's signed offer of employment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervise, coordinate and schedule the daily activities and shifts of retail sales staff.
• Assign duties to employees and monitor their performance during each shift.
• Train new employees in job duties, customer service procedures, safety requirements and company policies.
• Assist with employee performance monitoring and provide operational guidance to staff.
• Authorize payments, refunds and the return or exchange of merchandise in accordance with store policies.
• Resolve customer concerns,



complaints and special requests in a professional and timely manner.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate the ordering and replenishment of grocery products, supplies and other materials required for daily operations.
• Ensure shelves and displays are properly stocked, products are correctly priced and merchandise is presented according to store standards.
• Maintain store presentation, cleanliness and merchandising standards.
• Prepare and maintain daily and weekly operational records and report sales, inventory and service-related information to management.
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors when required to support inventory and store operations.
• Ensure employees follow company policies, food-handling requirements, health and safety procedures and other applicable operational standards.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure the store is properly prepared for daily operations.
• Perform key retail duties when necessary to support staff during busy periods and maintain efficient customer service.

Required Skills & Qualifications
• Completion of secondary school is required. Bachelor degree in business or related field is an asset.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in retail sales, customer service, grocery operations, or a related environment is required.
• Previous experience supervising, coordinating or providing direction to other employees is an asset.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills,



including the ability to professionally resolve customer concerns and complaints.
• Ability to supervise staff, assign duties, coordinate work schedules and support employee training.
• Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy retail setting.
• Knowledge of basic retail operations, including inventory control, merchandise receiving, product stocking, pricing and store presentation.
• Ability to monitor inventory levels and coordinate product and supply orders.
• Basic computer skills and ability to maintain sales, inventory and operational records.
• Ability to handle payments, refunds and merchandise returns accurately and responsibly.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with employees, customers, suppliers and management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays when required.
• Ability to perform the physical duties associated with grocery retail operations, including standing for extended periods and handling merchandise.
• Turkish Language is an asset.
