Job Summary:

The Application Analyst - Intermediate will support the Bitumen Royalty in Kind (BRIK) program by analyzing, designing, developing, testing, and maintaining C# and MS-SQL based applications. This role involves close collaboration with business users and technical teams to ensure solutions meet regulatory and operational requirements within the Oil Sands sector. The analyst will focus on delivering efficient, maintainable, and well-documented software aligned with ministry standards and architecture guidelines.

Responsibilities:

- Gather and analyze business and user requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using C#, Visual Studio, and MS-SQL.
- Produce technical designs, database structures, and application architecture documentation.
- Conduct unit, system, and integration testing to ensure quality and functionality.
- Provide application support, troubleshooting, and remediation for defects or performance issues.
- Coordinate release schedules and ensure timely deployment of application changes.
- Collaborate with development teams to align with application architecture and reuse existing components.
- Document business processes, system designs, and produce technical reference manuals.
- Assist with performance and penetration testing efforts and provide technical recommendations.
- Track and report work status and time in accordance with project management requirements.

Required Skills:
- Proficiency in C# programming and Visual Studio development environment.
- Strong experience with MS-SQL database design and implementation.
- Ability to gather and analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Experience with application lifecycle management, including testing and deployment processes.
- Knowledge of software development best practices and application architecture principles.




- Effective communication skills to liaise with business users, developers, and management.
- Familiarity with Oil Sands regulations or similar energy sector regulatory environments.
