Care for horses, cattle, and other large animals as an Agricultural Assistant at the University of Guelph's Health Sciences Centre. Support patient care in a temporary part-time schedule.Reporting to the Manager, Patient Care and Service Delivery, this Agricultural Assistant supports clinicians, Registered Veterinary Technicians, and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students. Duties include husbandry care, patient handling, specialized feedings, and herd care within the Large Animal Hospital. The position may provide cross-trained support to other Health Sciences Centre units.Key Responsibilities:Provide cleaning, grooming, feeding, and exercise for patientsTrack patient intake, output,



and specialized feedingsHandle large animals during procedures and trailer loadingMonitor animal health changes and report concernsMaintain inventory and equipment logsRequirements:Two-year related college diploma and one year's clinic experienceAnimal Care Certificate or large animal coursework preferredEffective customer service, organizational, and communication skillsValid Class G Driver's Licence and adaptable shift availabilityProof of rabies titre requiredApply large animal husbandry, patient handling, and communication skills supporting teaching, research, and clinical care.
