Shape Tailscale’s next-generation console with React architecture and frontend platform expertise in a fully distributed, remote-first company.

This full-time Frontend Engineer will guide architecture for a unified web console serving multiple products. You will build shared infrastructure, platform capabilities, and identity-adjacent systems spanning authentication, session management, and secure cross-origin integrations. The work combines technical direction with product collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

- Define architecture, routing, state boundaries, and shared abstractions
- Operate frontend serving platforms for multiple Tailscale products
- Establish conventions and patterns for cohesive console experiences
- Partner with Product Design on intuitive infrastructure experiences
- Improve testing,



development workflows, releases, and reliability

Requirements:

- Deep experience building production React applications at scale
- Experience creating platforms, frameworks, or shared libraries
- Strong judgment across standardization, abstraction, and maintainability
- Experience designing scalable frontend testing strategies
- Solid communication, ownership, autonomy, and cross-functional collaboration
