Calgary
Type: Full-time
Twin Staffing is recruiting on behalf of a Calgary-based organization that operates across corporate, field, and operational technology (OT) environments.
Our partner is looking for a Network Engineer to take ownership of its core network and treat it as a service platform for every application, cloud service, and OT system that relies on it. This is a hands‑on role based full‑time at the Calgary office. You’ll work alongside Field Operations, IT Operations, Information Security, and vendors to keep the network available, secure, and well documented.
You’ll also act as the escalation point and subject matter expert for field teams. This role is not part of a scheduled on‑call rotation.
Core network and platform operations
Own the availability, performance, and supportability of core network infrastructure and the cloud‑based platforms used to manage and monitor it.
Administer routing, switching, gateways, DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and VPN and remote connectivity.
Monitor capacity, utilization, and performance across corporate, field, and cloud‑connected environments.
Resolve incidents that start in the core network, and support field escalations that need engineering expertise, configuration changes, or vendor involvement.
Standards, configuration, and documentation
Build and maintain standard configurations, templates, and approved design patterns.
Detect and correct configuration drift across centrally managed networks.
Keep diagrams, inventories, addressing, and support documentation accurate and current.
Give Field and IT Operations the standards and diagnostic guidance they need to support field sites.
Design scalable network solutions for corporate, field, OT, cloud, and project environments.
Turn business, security, and performance requirements into practical designs.
Manage firmware, licensing, capacity, and end‑of‑life planning.
Understand the applications, OT, IoT, and building systems on the network, including their traffic, protocols, and dependencies.
Maintain an inventory and dependency map of connected systems.
Design segmentation and connectivity around each system’s needs and risk profile.
Identify unknown or unmanaged devices and traffic, and work with Information Security to address them.
Assess the network impact of new systems and vendor connections before they go live.
Implement approved security controls and remediate vulnerabilities and compliance findings.
Maintain recoverable configurations and support recovery planning and testing.
Lead root‑cause analysis and put permanent fixes in place for recurring network issues.
