Only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Your Responsibilities:Dig trenches and excavations manually and using hand tools for demolition and construction projects, including work in wet and tidal environmentsPerform trenching work up to 5 feet deep, including in confined spaces and around historical buildings and restoration sitesAssist with site preparation activities, including removal of rubble, and debrisLoad, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipmentSet up and dismantle work areas,



including barriers and safety enclosures as requiredFollow all health and safety procedures, including working around heavy equipmentMaintain clean and organized job sitesUse and maintain required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toed boots, hard hats, and headlampsWork in various conditions in dusty or noisy environments, and in wet, hot or adverse weather conditionsSupport skilled tradespersons and supervisors in completing construction and demolition tasks efficientlyYou meet the following Requirements:3 months in any construction or related industriesAbility to communicate in English, verbal and writtenWork settings:Various locations in Halifax and surrounding regionsTrench, construction and demolition sitesWork conditions and physical capabilities:Rapid-paced environmentPhysically demandingManual dexterityRepetitive tasksHandling heavy loadsWork under pressureTight DeadlinesAttention to DetailHand – Eye co-ordinationWeight handling:Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)Credentials:Training required will be provided by the employer through in-house trainingFirst Aid CertificateWorkplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) CertificateFall Protection Training CourseWorking at Heights TrainingProvincial/Territorial Asbestos Hazards CertificationEquipment to be used:Reciprocating SawsConcrete SawsAir CompressorsDrillsSledgehammerHand ToolsAdditonal Information:Security and SafetyCriminal Record CheckOwn Tools/Equipment are required as listed below:Steel Toed Safety BootsHard HatSafety Glasses/GogglesGlovesSafety Vest
