Design ocean instruments in Ottawa as a Mechanical Engineer using first-principles analysis, simulation, and hands-on testing. This is an on-site role. At RBR, you will help create sensors, instruments, and OEM assemblies for demanding ocean conditions. The role suits a robust intermediate or senior engineer with product development experience. You will apply mechanics, fluids, thermal analysis, FEA, CFD, and three-dimensional CAD. Key Responsibilities:
Define products from scientific and customer requirements Own mechanical designs through production release Perform hand calculations, modelling, and tolerance analysis Validate designs through simulation and engineering tests Prepare NPI documentation and review team designs Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Eight or more years in mechanical product development Strong mechanics, fluids, heat transfer, and dynamics fundamentals Hands-on FEA or CFD experience with sound judgment Three-dimensional CAD proficiency; SolidWorks preferred Bring product design, engineering analysis, simulation, and testing expertise to RBR’s ocean technology team in Ottawa.
