As a Shop Welder, you will execute fabrication instructions from work orders, diagrams, drawings, and CIS standards. You will weld in multiple positions, repair components, prepare surfaces, and finish workpieces. Daily work emphasizes quality, safety, and technical standards within Weir’s mining technology operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Read work orders, drawings, diagrams, and CIS standards
- Perform manual welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions
- Repair cracked or broken parts using certified procedures
- Prepare surfaces through gouging, scarfing, and grinding
- Cut workpieces using oxy-fuel tools and finish them

Requirements:

- High school diploma or GED
- Five-plus years of related experience, training, or equivalent
- CWB certification preferred
- Basic algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and measurement skills
- TSSA, forklift, overhead crane safety, and WHMIS certifications
