Support mental health and wellness at YMCA Camp Pine Crest in Torrance, Ontario, with first aid, medication administration, and health monitoring. This seasonal contract requires six-day availability.
The Mental Health Specialist supports campers, staff, and volunteers throughout the overnight camp season. You will provide wellness resources, review health forms, conduct check-ins, respond to first aid concerns, and support medical preparedness. The role also contributes to training, documentation, and health and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide physical and mental health guidance to camp teams
- Review health forms and monitor information requiring special attention
- Conduct wellness check-ins with campers, groups, and counsellors
- Respond to first aid situations and communicate with healthcare professionals
- Dispense medications and maintain accurate wellness documentation
Requirements:
- First Aid and CPR certification meeting YMCA requirements
- Mental Health First Aid certification
- Valid driver's licence
- Experience working with children, preferably in health and wellness
- Availability for days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays
