Job Summary

The Class 3 Driver will safely operate a Class 3 vehicle with air brakes to collect residential recycling, perform pre-and post-trip inspections, deliver materials to the processing facility, and provideprofessional service to customers.

Thisroleoperatesa right-hand-drive Class 3 recycling truck. Thedriveris required to manually load recyclables by emptying residential recycling bins into one of three side-loader compartments. Theposition requires frequent entry andexit from the vehicle at each stop and involves consistent physical labor throughout the day. The successful candidate must be comfortable with manual handling and working in a physically demanding setting while maintaining a strong focus on safety and service.

Position Description

• Safe and efficient operation of a Class 3 motor vehicle (with air brakes);


• Conduct all activities according to the collection schedule;


• Perform curbsider recycling collection in a manner that meets or exceeds contract requirements;


• Conduct daily inspection of vehicle and accurately complete related documentation;


• Communicate with supervisor regarding concerns or suggestions; and






• Perform other related duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Skills & Qualifications

• Requires Class 3 with air brake endorsement;


• Must have clean driver’s abstract; Must submit a current driver’s abstract with the resume.


• Minimum 2 years working experience driving with required license preferred;


• Ability to lift up to 50lbs;


• The ability to work overtime on an “as-needed” basis, is required;


• Good command of the English language (both verbal and written); and


• Experience in the waste and recycling industry or similar industry – an asset.
