At the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka, this Assistant Teacher helps create nurturing environments at Wasaga Beach P.S. Children receive engaging, supervised experiences aligned with the YMCA Curriculum. The position requires collaboration with families, staff, and volunteers, plus flexibility across routines, schedules, and program needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement play-based activities following YMCA Curriculum
- Create inclusive environments for children with additional needs
- Monitor children’s safety and provide active supervision
- Maintain positive communication with families and volunteers
- Demonstrate flexibility with routines and schedules
Requirements:
- Passion for children and quality play-based learning
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Well-developed relationship-building skills
- First Aid and CPR certification or completion within 90 days
- Ability to participate physically and work outdoors year-round
