Build Houdini workflows for Image Engine in Vancouver, supporting artists and TDs through Python tools and production troubleshooting. This is a one-year project contract. The Houdini Workflow TD supports FX and other Houdini-using departments, including CFX, Grooming, Modelling, and Environment. You translate show requirements into reusable tools, maintain HDAs and templates, and improve facility workflows. The work combines CG shot production understanding with communication across artists, supervisors, production staff, developers, IT, and vendors. Key Responsibilities:

and support Houdini users across departments Standardize workflows across shows and departments Triage production issues and communicate required technical solutions Document processes and support adoption of new technologies Requirements:

Experience developing tools for VFX feature films Solid Python and Houdini tool development experience Advanced knowledge of Gaffer, Katana, or Houdini Solaris Working knowledge of Maya, Nuke, Arnold, Shotgun, and RV Strong understanding of CG shot production workflows Apply Houdini, Python, workflow design, and troubleshooting expertise to Image Engine’s Vancouver visual effects pipeline.
