Lead municipal finance for the Town of High Level, guiding strategic planning, accounting, revenue collection, and cash management. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Finance leads overall financial operations for a northern Alberta municipality. The position oversees budgets, reporting, financial policies, support services, and compliance with the Municipal Government Act. It supervises four finance staff while advising Council, senior management, and Town employees. Key Responsibilities:

Direct annual and long term operational and capital budget preparation Prepare municipal financial reports, statements, and variance information Oversee accounting, taxation, treasury, audit, and financial systems Develop financial bylaws, policies, resolutions,



and amendments Supervise, mentor, evaluate, and delegate work to finance staff Requirements:

Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Public Administration Chartered Skilled Accountant designation Five years of increasingly responsible public sector finance experience Knowledge of PSAS, GAAP, internal controls, and fiscal planning Knowledge of the Municipal Government Act and related regulations Apply municipal leadership, public sector accounting, and fiscal planning expertise to support High Level’s financial future.
