This General Help position prepares and distributes meals to service units at the Vancouver Island Regional Correctional Centre. Duties include measuring ingredients, storing food, handling meal carts, and completing sanitation tasks. The work requires explicit communication, organization, hygiene, and effective instruction following.

Key Responsibilities:

- Measure ingredients for assigned food production areas
- Store food using wrapping, dating, safety, and rotation procedures
- Portion scheduled meals and special diet trays
- Load, deliver, collect, and unload meal carts
- Maintain clean, orderly storage and service areas

Requirements:

- Grade 12 or equivalent education, training, and experience
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to give and receive instructions effectively
- Ability to operate related equipment safely
- Good personal hygiene and physical task ability
