Lead traffic control across Vancouver Island as a Lane Closure Technician, using work-zone setup, monitoring, and exact signals. Work outdoors across dispatchable sites.

The Universal Group is seeking a Lane Closure Technician with at least six months of BC LCT experience. You will support traffic control for underground, utility, electrical, paving, road-building, and special-event work. The position focuses on safe, efficient setup, maintenance, and removal of traffic control measures. You will guide Traffic Control Persons, monitor changing work scopes, and protect roadworkers, crews, and the public. Safety compliance and clear reporting remain central to the work.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead Traffic Control Persons during setup and tear down
- Set up, maintain, and remove traffic control zones




- Direct motorists using clear traffic control signals
- Monitor work zones and modify controls when scopes change
- Conduct traffic control at special events when required

Requirements:

- Minimum six months of BC LCT experience
- Current WorkSafeBC-recognized TCP certification or equivalent
- Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC Traffic Control Regulations, Part 18
- Availability weekdays and occasional weekends outdoors
