This experienced Tunnel Engineer role supports practical solutions for construction challenges alongside design teams, site management, contractors, and engineering disciplines. You will contribute to tunnel design, temporary works, technical reviews, risk management, and improved tunnelling methods. Experience in tunnelling, underground construction, or major infrastructure is essential.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and review tunnel designs, methodologies, and temporary works proposals
Support excavation, lining, ground support, waterproofing, and underground works
Monitor construction against drawings, specifications, plans, and legislation
Review submissions, calculations, risk assessments,



and method statements
Prepare technical reports, progress updates, and engineering records
Requirements: Degree in civil, structural, mining, or related engineering discipline
Demonstrable tunnelling, underground construction, or infrastructure experience
Understanding of British Standards, Eurocodes, regulations, and tunnel principles
Strong technical, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Professional registration or progress toward chartered status desirable
