This critical community role focuses on the Team Member Experience and residents’ daily lives. Under Team Leader guidance, the Recreation Aide assists with programs, observes resident needs and progress, and reports participation and feedback. The role also supports current residents as they become familiar with the residence and recreation program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with departmental program development and revisions
- Prepare activity spaces for scheduled recreation programs
- Assist resident transportation to and from programs
- Report resident participation and feedback to the Team Leader
- Orient new residents and encourage conversation
Requirements:
- Post-secondary recreation, leisure, kinesiology, or related education
- Equivalent work experience with seniors may be considered
- Knowledge of senior motivation concepts and leisure principles
- Computer proficiency
- Valid driver’s license, including required bus class where applicable
