Alberta Justice offers a temporary full time Crown Prosecutor position through October 4, 2027. The Alberta Crown Prosecution Service prosecutes Criminal Code, Youth Criminal Justice Act, and provincial statute offences. Duties include resolution discussions, sentencings, court submissions, and bail review recommendations.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct resolution discussions and recommend appropriate pleas
Conduct sentencings within Justice of the Peace jurisdiction
Prepare bail review and extraordinary remedy recommendations
Perform legal research, writing, and presentations
Report issues promptly to prosecution leadership
Requirements: Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree
Active Law Society of Alberta membership or eligibility
Experience conducting bail hearings
Current knowledge of criminal justice processes
CP2 requires a minimum of four years
Bring prosecution judgment, criminal law understanding, legal writing, and bail experience to Alberta’s Crown Prosecution Service.
