As a Senior Conversational AI Software Engineer, you’ll help define Alfie, Pebl’s AI assistant for global employment software. You’ll work across frontend and backend systems, designing how agents reason, use tools, communicate uncertainty, and return control. Your work will connect product experience with technical reliability.
Key Responsibilities: Build conversational and streaming interfaces in React and TypeScript
Design tool-calling contracts and multi-step agent workflows
Create recovery paths and human-in-the-loop handoffs
Prototype interaction patterns as models and capabilities evolve
Investigate model output, latency, and dropped tool-call failures
Requirements: Seven or more years of qualified full stack engineering experience
Hands-on LLM or agentic product development experience
Experience shipping chatbot, copilot, or assistant interfaces
Understanding of prompt engineering and agent observability
Strong frontend, API, database, and system design fundamentals
Use conversational product expertise and agentic engineering judgment to make Alfie clearer, more resilient, and useful to end users.
